PackRounds · Software
Free dog walking software, and where the free part stops
In short
PackRounds has a real free plan. It covers up to 5 active clients. Bookings and services are not capped, so a walker with four clients can run a whole week on it. No card is asked for. Past 5 clients you move to a paid plan, at $9.99 a month or $89.99 a year.
Start freeFree for your first 5 clients. No card needed.
What you get

Your booking page, free
You get a public page with your name, your services and your prices. Clients book from it. That does not cost anything.

Bookings are not capped
Free does not count your walks. Book the same four clients five days a week, every week, and nothing runs out.

The day and the notes
Today and the client records work the same on Free. Pets, allergies, meds and locked gate codes are all there.

Reminders on the free plan too
A confirmation goes out by email. So does a reminder before the visit. Texts go too, when a client has said yes to texts.
What free usually means
In this category, free is often a trial. Fourteen days, thirty days, then a card. Or it is a cut down app that hides the useful screens until you pay.
Ours is neither. Free is a plan. It does not run out on a date. It runs out when your client list grows.
The limit, first
Free covers up to 5 active clients. A client is a home, not a pet. Three dogs at one address is one client. Two cats and a dog is one client.
Nothing else is capped. Not bookings. Not services. Not reminders. A walker with four regular homes, walking each of them five days a week, is inside the free plan and stays there.
What you get without paying
- Your own booking page, with your name and prices.
- Client and pet records, with locked home access notes.
- Today, the route screen you open at each door.
- Email confirmations and reminders. Texts too, with consent.
- Card payments and tips through Stripe, once your account is linked.
What you never get, at any price
Paying does not unlock a bigger product. There is no GPS tracking. There are no photo updates after a walk. There are no staff logins and no pay stubs. There is no invoicing and no QuickBooks sync. There is no app to download yet.
That list is the same on Free and on paid. If one of those is a deal breaker, it is a deal breaker now, and you have lost ten minutes rather than a month.
Why free is small
A free plan has to end somewhere. Most tools end it on a date, so you get thirty days and then a bill. We ended it on client count instead.
Five homes is a real start. It is not a real business. A walker with ten regular homes is already earning, and a free plan that covers that never gets paid for. So the line sits at five, and it sits there in the open.
Free is not a cut down app
Every screen works on Free. Today works. Client and pet records work. The booking page works. Reminders work. Card payments work.
We did not hold a feature back to make Free annoying. The only wall is the client count.
When to move up
Move when client six arrives. That is the whole rule. Unlimited clients is $9.99 a month or $89.99 a year. Everything you have already put in stays put.
One walk a month usually covers the monthly price. Check that against your own numbers on the route profit calculator.
Free is a good place to start
If you are still building the business, start here and spend the money on insurance instead. Read what cover you need, then set your prices. The software can wait for client six.
Who PackRounds is not for
- A walker with more than a handful of homes. Free stops at a small client list on purpose.
- A company with staff. There are no staff logins on any plan, free or paid.
- Anyone who needs GPS tracked walks, photo updates or bills. Paying does not add those.

Common questions
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. It costs nothing and asks for no card. It covers up to 5 active clients. Bookings and services are not capped.
What counts as a client?
A home, not a pet. Three dogs at one address is one client. A family with several dogs never eats up your free slots.
What happens when I outgrow it?
Move to a paid plan for unlimited clients. That is $9.99 a month or $89.99 a year. Your clients, pets, notes and bookings stay where they are.
Do you take a cut of my bookings on the free plan?
No. PackRounds takes 0% on every plan. If a client pays by card, Stripe charges its own fee and we pass it through with nothing added.
Is the paid plan a bigger product?
No. The only thing you buy is room for more clients. There are no locked screens and no paid only tools.
